Toothpaste

Cargill’s naturally based ingredients are used frequently in toothpastes due to their wide range of functional properties:

Humectant	CSorbidex sorbitol syrups and CPharmGlydex glycerol are excellent non-crystallizing humectants, which provide body
Texturizers & Binders	Satiagum™ UCT, Satiagel™ UTH carrageenans and Satiaxane™ CX xanthan gum make excellent texturizers as they significantly improve the rheological profile of the paste, ensuring that when it is squeezed out of the tube, it is perfectly positioned on top of the brush. They also provide a high gloss effect to the toothpaste and prevent its separation during storage
Non-cariogenic	CPharmGlydex glycerin and CSorbidex sorbitol have non-cariogenic properties
Cariostatic	CXylidex xylitol and CEridex erythritol have been proven, in numerous trials, to be cariostatic agents
Flavor masking	CEridex erythritol is an effective ingredient in the flavor building system as it can mask off-flavors and therefore, enhance the overall taste of the toothpaste
Flavor & Mouth feel	CEridex erythritol and CXylidex xylitol provide an intense cooling effect in the mouth and have a clean, sweet taste. CSorbidex sorbitol syrups can also provide a cooling sensation in the mouth but which is less intense
Compatibility	CSorbidex sorbitol syrups and CPharmGlydex glycerol are highly compatible with many actives and other ingredients present in toothpastes
Clear gel	CSorbidex sorbitol syrups and CPharmGlydex glycerol are ideal to create translucent or transparent gel pastes but can also be used in the formulation of classic white pastes
