Our naturally based products are increasingly being used in breath freshening applications as consumers are becoming more concerned about oral hygiene and having fresh breath throughout the day.

In chewing gums

Our ingredients provide functional benefits throughout the formulation process.

“Bite” control	CSorbidex sorbitol powder is used in the solid phase of chewing gum production to produce the required “bite”
Plasticizer	CSorbidex sorbitol, Cglycerol, CEridex erythritol, CMaltidex maltitol and lecithins are used in the liquid phase to improve chewability
Tooth friendly	CSorbidex sorbitol and CPharmGlydex glycerol are non-cariogenic and are therefore, ideal for use in “tooth-friendly” chewing gums. CXylidex xylitol and CEridex erythritol have been proven, in numerous trials, to be cariostatic agents and find their use in upper market products
Mouth feel	CPharmGlydex glycerol, CXylidex xylitol and CSorbidex sorbitol will help you achieve the required mouth feel, whether you need an intense cooling sensation or just a fresh feel in the mouth
Flavor release	A prolonged flavor effect is obtained by preblending the flavor with lecithins
Crunchy coating	CMaltidex maltitol helps you achieve the required level of crunchiness
Non-stick dusting	CMannidex mannitol powder and CIsomaltidex isomalt are effective in reducing stickiness and are used extensively to coat chewing gum
Shelf life	CEridex erythritol, CMaltidex maltitol and lecithins can be used to improve the shelf life of your products

In oral care strips

Our range of hydrocolloids is often incorporated in the formulation of these sheets as both viscosity control and film forming agents and as a flavor emulsion stabilizer. Modified starches and maltodextrins with their film forming properties are also used in combination with other edible polymers. To fine-tune the strength and flexibility of oral care strips, polyols such as non-crystallizing CSorbidex sorbitol syrup can be used as plasticizer.
